Heart of Darkness The Company

The Company is not really a character, but Conrad does choose to capitalize it throughout the work. The Company is based in an unnamed city in Europe, and sends men to the jungle where the story takes place (also unnamed) to acquire ivory. The Company is the vehicle through which Conrad criticizes Imperialism.
